FMCG & Food & Beverage

FMCG marketing for brands that ship, not just brands that pitch.

FMCG and F&B brands win when distribution + brand + repeat-purchase compound. I build the digital layer — performance acquisition, content that converts, retention via DTC + retail apps, and the data infrastructure to measure it all.

§ 01 — Industry Brief

What makes FMCG & F&B marketing different

FMCG marketing is fundamentally about distribution + repeat purchase. Performance ads acquire trial; product, brand, and retention earn the second purchase. I work the full chain — paid acquisition, owned channels, and retention infrastructure that turns trials into habits.

Hybrid retail + DTC channels

FMCG sells via Amazon, BigBasket, Blinkit, retail stores, AND your own website. Each needs its own playbook and they must reinforce each other.

Habit formation = repeat purchase

First-purchase economics rarely work in FMCG. The brand wins or loses on whether customers buy a second, third, fourth time.

Seasonality and launch cycles

Diwali, Christmas, summer, monsoon — FMCG runs on calendars. Marketing must plan 12 weeks ahead for every key window.

04

Influencer + UGC seeding

Micro-influencer pipeline + branded UGC library. Drives both acquisition and social proof.

05

Retention infrastructure

Klaviyo flows, subscription mechanics, festival calendar — 6 months ahead of each window.

06

Marketplace optimization

Amazon, Quick Commerce, BigBasket listings — listing copy, A+ content, sponsored ads, review management.

§ 06 — Questions

FMCG & F&B FAQ

What ROAS should I target for FMCG?
Trial-generation campaigns can run 1.5-2.5x ROAS profitably IF retention is strong. The math only works if 35-50% of first-time buyers come back within 60 days.
Do you work with food brands specifically?
Yes — multiple food/beverage engagements over the past 6 years. Familiar with FSSAI compliance copy, label-claim regulations, and food-photography production.
Can you handle modern trade + DTC together?
Yes. Modern trade goals are listing wins and shelf velocity; DTC goals are direct revenue and first-party data. They're complementary — DTC builds the brand that retail buyers trust.
What about Quick Commerce (Blinkit, Zepto)?
Critical channel for urban FMCG in India. Listing optimization, sponsored ads, pricing strategy, and bundle architecture all matter. I work on all three.
Festival season planning — how far ahead?
12 weeks minimum. Creative production needs 6 weeks, performance ramp needs 4 weeks, retail listings need 2 weeks. Brands that plan 12 weeks ahead win the season.
