Social Media Marketing

Social that turns scrollers into buyers.

Strategy, content, paid social, and community built as one system — not four disconnected budgets. Every platform treated on its own terms: LinkedIn for trust, Instagram for desire, YouTube for depth, Meta for reach. 100K+ impressions, 40% engagement lift across portfolio brands.

§ 01 — The Fundamentals

What social media marketing really is

Social media marketing isn't posting photos. It's a disciplined practice combining audience research, content production, community management, and paid amplification — measured by business outcomes, not likes.

Audience-first approach

Every post must answer: who is this for, what problem does it solve, why now. Without that, content is just noise competing for the algorithm.

Organic + paid as one system

Organic builds credibility; paid buys reach. Best-performing organic posts become paid amplification candidates — the validation signal is built into the workflow.

Metrics that matter

Vanity metrics (likes, followers) track visibility; business metrics (CAC, LTV, revenue attributed) track impact. I report both but optimize for the second.

§ 02 — Platform Playbook

Each platform on its own terms

What works on LinkedIn dies on TikTok. What converts on Instagram looks out of place on X. Here's how I treat each.

Instagram

Visual-first, format-diverse. Reels drive discovery, Stories drive intimacy, posts build portfolio, DMs close the sale.

  • Reels-first content strategy for reach
  • Carousel posts for saves and shares
  • Stories for polls, Q&A, behind-the-scenes
  • DM automation for lead qualification

LinkedIn

B2B's highest-intent platform. Personal profiles outperform company pages 10:1 for organic reach. Thought leadership is the content that converts.

  • Founder-led + employee advocacy posts
  • Long-form personal stories with business hooks
  • Document posts (carousels) for saves
  • Newsletter for audience ownership

Facebook

Organic reach is dead, but it's still the #1 paid social platform globally. Advantage+ Shopping and lookalike audiences make it unmatched for e-commerce scale.

  • Advantage+ Shopping for e-commerce
  • Groups for community-led growth
  • Lookalike audiences from first-party data
  • Messenger bots for support and qualification

YouTube

The second-largest search engine. Long-form videos build durable authority, Shorts drive discovery, the combination drives channels that actually grow businesses.

  • SEO-optimized long-form (8–15 min)
  • Shorts as funnel to long-form content
  • Consistent upload schedule (not frequency)
  • End screens + cards for channel retention

X (Twitter)

Niche professional communities, real-time conversation, link previews — still underrated for thought leadership in tech, marketing, finance.

  • Threads for long-form on a short-form platform
  • Reply-first engagement strategy
  • Spaces for live conversation
  • Lists for industry monitoring

TikTok

The most aggressive algorithm on any platform — content beats following, every time. Works when you commit to volume and the specific native format.

  • Native creative (no repurposed Reels)
  • Hook in the first 2 seconds
  • Trend-based content layered on brand message
  • Spark Ads to amplify organic winners
§ 03 — Content Strategy

A calendar that actually shows up

The #1 reason social fails is inconsistency. The #2 reason is posting without a clear thesis. Both are solvable with a proper content system.

The content pillar system

Four or five thematic pillars covering 80% of posts, with 20% reserved for timely/reactive content. Each pillar ties directly to a business goal.

  • Educational: build authority and trust
  • Social proof: case studies, testimonials, results
  • Behind-the-scenes: humanize the brand
  • Product: features, launches, use cases

The repurposing engine

One piece of source content (podcast, long-form video, blog post) produces 15+ atomic assets. Maximum leverage per creation hour.

  • Long-form video → Shorts, Reels, TikTok
  • Written post → carousel, quote graphics, thread
  • Podcast → audiogram, transcript blog post
  • Webinar → clips, highlight reel, newsletter
§ 04 — Algorithm Intelligence

What every algorithm actually optimizes for

Despite the mystery, every social algorithm rewards the same core signal: how long users stay engaged with what you post. Everything else is a variation.

Watch time & retention

Reels, Shorts, TikTok all optimize for completion rate first. Hook in 2 seconds, pay off by 8, loop or layer by 15 — formulas matter more than virality hacks.

Meaningful interactions

Comments and shares weight far higher than likes. Ask questions, provoke opinion, create debate — posts that get replies spread; posts that only get likes die.

Saves and sends

Saves signal long-term value; sends signal personal relevance. Both are algorithmic gold — design content that's worth keeping, not just consuming.

§ 05 — Measurement

The metrics that matter

A dashboard full of numbers isn't strategy. These are the metrics I track monthly for every client — tied to business outcomes, not just platform vanity.

§ 06 — Community & Influence

Community building + influencer partnerships

Accounts with real communities outperform accounts with big follower counts by every business metric. Here's how I build both.

Community management

Replies within 2 hours during business hours, proactive engagement with target accounts, UGC curation, and weekly "insider" content for repeat visitors.

  • Response SLA: 2 hours business, 12 hours overnight
  • Daily engagement with 20 target accounts
  • UGC permission and reposting workflow
  • Groups and close-friends lists for top fans

Influencer partnerships

Nano (under 10K) and micro-influencers (10–100K) deliver 3–5x higher engagement than celebrities, at a fraction of the cost. Strategy > spend.

  • Partnership vetting (real audiences, not bought)
  • Contract and performance-based compensation
  • Content collaboration over pure sponsorship
  • Spark Ads / branded content amplification

§ 09 — Questions

Social Media FAQ

Which platforms should my business be on?
Start with 1–2 platforms where your audience actually spends time and your team can sustain quality. Being average everywhere loses to being exceptional in two places. I'll recommend based on your ICP, not industry defaults.
How often should I post?
Consistency matters more than frequency. 3 great posts a week beats 15 mediocre posts. For most clients: 3–5 posts weekly on Instagram/LinkedIn, daily Stories/Shorts, weekly YouTube long-form.
Do you create content or just schedule it?
Full creation. Copy, design, short-form video editing, and Reels/Shorts production are all in scope. For larger productions (studio video, influencer shoots), I collaborate with production partners on top.
How long until I see follower growth?
Visible momentum in 6–12 weeks with consistent execution. But I don't optimize for follower count — I optimize for engagement rate, save rate, and website traffic. Accounts with 5K engaged followers beat accounts with 50K passive ones, every time.
Can you help with paid Instagram/Facebook Ads too?
Yes — paid social is part of the Growth and Enterprise packages. I manage the full organic + paid integration so amplification decisions are driven by what's actually working organically.
